Sabbath surprise...

We just had to share this. :) A little over a week ago we decided to attempt an afternoon hike into the mountains for the first time this year. We made it in far enough to hike one of the lower-elevation trails, although it still had 3-4 feet of packed snow on it. As we hiked, we discovered something on the trail, partly buried in a deep hole in the snow. It is something we, and many Montanans have only dreamed of finding. Take a look... :)

Realizing the other moose antler was likely not far away, we glanced up the trail, and there it was!

Although every trip into God's creation yields lessons and treasures, this one was extra special. :)

One Score and Two

This year Lisa had her birthday while we visited the Truk Islands. Her favorite childhood place to go when we lived there was an island called "AchAch". So spending her birthday weekend there was especially meaningful! What a special birthday gift from God!

While I'm not anywhere near the poet that Lisa is, I couldn't resist trying my hand at it and giving it to her on AchAch. Great memories!

Dear Lisa, Today you turn twenty-two.

Who could have guessed when you left here at ten,
At one-score and two, you'd be here again?

God opened each door to visit our friends
Because it's so clear we're nearing the end.

We've swatted mosquitoes, walked in the rain,
Visiting, praying for some soul to gain.

Enjoy the snorkeling, sunshine, and breeze,
Taking a break and enjoying some ease.

We'll soon leave the heat, humidity, too.
